Wrestling is a combat sport that emerged from ancient Egypt and Greece. It involves gripping, holds, clinch fights, and throwdowns.

Initially, it was known to be a combat practice in towns and villages to determine strength among peer groups, but some French wrestlers later made it a professional sport in 1830.

It was later added to modern Olympic sports and is recognized worldwide as an Olympic sport associated with prizes. At the world's wrestling level, it was displayed for the first time as a modern Olympic sport during the First Modern Olympic Games held in Athens in 1896.

Wrestling is now a popular entertainment genre known in most parts of the world, involving experts who have achieved fame through the sport.
